Immune Disease
Resources
If you have recently been diagnosed with primary immune deficiency,
or if a member of your family has, you probably have many questions.
- What is primary immune deficiency?
- What type of treatment is available?
- Can I live a normal life?
- Will I be OK?
As you explore these questions with your healthcare professionals,
you will discover that today's treatment options will likely
allow you to live a happy, healthy, and active life.
The Educational Resource Kit for Newly Diagnosed Patients with
Primary Immune Deficiency (PI) is designed to provide you with
an overview of information about the human immune system and primary
immune deficiency.
The kit includes an interactive CD that takes you through an
easy-to-understand tour of the world of PI. You'll learn
about PI, the human immune system, and diagnosing and treating
PI. The CD also provides you with the opportunity to hear from
patients and families who have experienced what you are going
through and have come through it successfully. You can even watch
as Brandon, a PI patient, receives his infusion.
We've also included several documents about PI, sample
letters to inform school officials and employers about PI, and
information about unique support services you can access from
Baxter, including the GAMMASSIST program.
