Living with
Primary Immune Deficiency
Most
children with PI can go to school and participate in a wide range
of activities. The challenge for parents is preparing both the
school and the child for each new level in the school process.
Many people find it helpful to provide the school with specific
information about PI and about their child prior to the beginning
of each school year. To assist you with this, Baxter has developed
a sample letter for the school nurse.
Letter to School Nurse (Child with Primary Immune
Disease)
There's also a poster about PI
for the school nurse to share with the entire school community.
For more in-depth information, the chapter “Children,
Teenagers and Primary Immune Diseases” from the IDF
Patient/Family Handbook is a rich resource.
