Insurance coverage is often an issue of concern to patients with immune disease and their families. It is important to learn as much as possible about all the options and resources available to you. Baxter offers services specifically designed to assist you with these issues.

Baxter's Department of Healthcare Economics offers education, support and advocacy to patients and their healthcare providers, acting as a resource to those who rely on our therapies.

Baxter is also pleased to provide the GAMMASSIST Program, a way for eligible users of Baxter's Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human) therapies to continue to receive their Immune Globulin without charge in the event of a lapse in private insurance.

For answers to general questions about insurance, check Common Questions. If you have specific questions about your insurance coverage or reimbursement, call the Baxter IVIG Reimbursement Hotline.

For comprehensive information about insurance and reimbursement, the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) Patient/Family Handbook is an excellent resource. This book, developed with funding from Baxter, includes a chapter “Insurance for Primary Immune Deficiency:Taking Control.”

To locate the Department of Insurance and high risk coverage resources for your state, use the Directory.

There are many resources for reimbursement information on the Internet, including information about Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
